1895-1935 : MR BURNHAM & CHICAGO

Navy Pier was not always what we know it to be today... in fact, it wasn't even called "Navy Pier" at first!

This week the Bananas researched the development and use of this popular place. With the support of a small group, they read about the Daniel Burnham's initial proposal for the pier (which actually included more than one pier) and explored its many uses over the course of our time period.

The small groups typed a formal written piece, drew an illustration, presented to the class, and displayed their work in chronological order on our 2nd grade Chicago Timeline. Be sure to check it out!
