2nd Trimester Standards

In addition to new 2nd trimester standards, your Star will also be reassessed on their 1st trimester standards.

• I can retell familiar stories with details.

• I can recognize common types of texts.

• I can describe the relationship of illustrations to a story.

• I can identify a text's main topic and retell key details.

• I can describe connections between pieces of information.  

• I can identify similarities and differences between two texts.

• I can follow words from left to right, top to bottom, and page by page.

• I can recognize that spoken words are represented in written language by specific sequences of letters. 

• I can understand that words are separated by spaces in print.

• I can count, pronounce, blend, and segment syllables.

• I can blend and segment onsets and rimes of single syllable words.  

• I can add or substitute individual sounds (phonemes) in simple, one-syllable words to make new words.

• I can demonstrate basic knowledge of one-to-one letter-sound correspondence.

• I can participate in shared research and writing.

• I can recall or gather information to answer questions.

• I can describe familiar people, places, things, and events.

• I can add drawings to descriptions.
